Tom Hempel - Founder

Email: Tomsturkeysn@yahoo.com
Tom wanted a way to be able to give back, you see with some health issues he believes that God had a plan for him. It just wasn’t his time, so with that taken care of he said to himself, I need to serve him better than I have to thank him for making me whole again.
Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2020 Tom just wanted to purchase Turkeys for people that weren’t going to have a good meal on their table, but it just so happened that their was a shortage of Turkeys that year, so his wife Linda came up with buying ALDI gift cards to help out. That year Tom and his community gave over $1,000.00 away to needy families.
So now, January of 2021 comes and Tom said to himself that there are still families in need, so that’s where it all started to where it is today. GOD IS SO GREAT!
I PRAISE HIS NAME DAILY.
With his community behind him whom all support his mission, they all pitched in. His saying, “that at a CLICK of a Finger we all could fall in a trap where we need help”
He definitely loves his community too. Tom is also involved with the Norwin Area First Responders which includes the Fire, Police & EMS departments, in which he is a retired Police Officer.
He encourages us all to help others in any way we can, he also says that when he puts his head on the pillow at night to go to sleep he sleeps very soundly, that he contributes to helping those less fortunate.
A word from Tom himself:
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for you coming by our community organization and hearing about what we all are doing.
God Bless you and your families…
Tom
Founder but GOD is Leading the way…….

High School: Norwin Senior High School, Class of 1984
College: Bethany College, WV
BA Leisure Services, Teaching K-12 Class of 1990
Married to Michael Komondor 1990
Daughter Claudia Ohrman and son-in-law Joshua Ohrman
Since childhood I have been involved in some way with community groups and charities starting with St. Agnes Church, Vincent de Paul Society. My parents were members, ran the church store, organized clothing drives to Kentucky and transported the nuns and priests to their new locations between the school years.
Growing up I was involved in basketball, volleyball, track, and soccer where I was the first girl to play soccer for Norwin on the boys team. This continued through college.
Currently, I work for Shiloh Services, Inc.in North Huntingdon.
My community involvement has not stopped. I am a member of Tom’s Turkeys, costume coordinator and seamstress for the Norwin Theater Company for 10 years, supporter of Beverly’s Birthdays and MASUS as Prestige Pennsylvania All-Star United States 2023 and Co-Coordinator for Wreaths Across America - North Huntingdon.
Being involved in the community is important to myself and hard to say no. Each organization I am involved with has their own goals and needs. From food donations, support veterans/fire/ems/police personnel to children in various ways. It is amazing how a little helping hand(s) can do such good.

While my mother, Betty Ann was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. I grew up around the constant fundraiser’s needed to fund the fire department. I still volunteer at fundraisers for Circleville VFD which both my husband and son Nicholas are active members and my son James is a former member.
A few years ago, I began volunteering for Tom’s Turkeys. This is such a great organization that gives back to the community. Tom, the board members and volunteers are all great group of caring individuals who come together for benefit of our community.
